Donna Dorsey

Donna Dorsey is the chair for the American Red Cross Central Maryland Chapter Board of Directors for the 2005-2006 term.

Ms. Dorsey has served as vice-chair, chair of the International committee and the Howard County Red Cross Board of Directors. She is currently a member of numerous Red Cross committees including Emergency Services, Health and Safety, Board Development, District Relations, Standards of Excellence and Technology. Dorsey is the Executive Director for the Maryland Board of Nursing.

Donna is a brilliant, determined and dynmic professional wholly commited to achieving excellence within the Central Maryland Red Cross.



Vice Chair, Board of Directors


Fred Rigger has been a strong supporter of the Central Maryland for many years donating extensive time as a volunteer; committee member; chair of Youth Services, Health and Safety Services, and Aquatic Task Force committees; boardmember; and board officer.

Mr. Rigger is also actively involved in other community organizations. He has served as president of a local PTA as well as several professional associations. Fred was appointed Chairman of the State Advisory Council on Youth for Maryland.

Fred Rigger earned his university degree from from Pennsylvania State and is in continual pursuit of additional certification in order to maintain his professional credentials. He brings to the Red Cross great insight, strong organizational skills and contagious enthusiasm.




Treasurer, Board of Directors


Steve Schuh is a long-standing member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross of Central Maryland. Mr. Schuh is a member of the Executive Committee and has served as Treasurer of the Chapter since 2002.

Mr. Schuh is actively involved in the community. He serves on the boards of trustees of two independent schools, is founder and President of the Skywater Foundation, is a Governing Member of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and is a Director of the Chesapeake Arts Center.

Steve Schuh earned his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and earned advanced degrees from Harvard Business School and Johns Hopkins University. He brings to the Red Cross a wealth of knowledge of and extensive experience in the financial services industry, having worked as a Managing Director for Alex. Brown & Sons and Credit Suisse First Boston. Currently, Mr. Schuh serves as Managing Member of Schuh Advisory, LLC, an investment banking and financial advisory firm.


Secretary, Board of Directors

Gorham L. Black, III, has served on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, Central Maryland, for over fifteen years. Mr. Black is not only an officer of the Chapterbut a member of the Executive Committee and has served as the Chair of the Emergency Services Department.

Upon retiring from the United States Army as the Garrison Commander of Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, Mr. Black went on to serve in numerous positions in federal, state and local governments and academia. He is currently on the Board of Directors for Help Hospitalized Veterans; the Bowling Brook Farms Homeowners Association; Columbia (MD) Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; and the Fort Meade Alliance. Mr. Black is a frequent substitute at Reservoir High School, Fulton, Maryland.

Gorham Black holds a BA degree from Howard University, Washington DC, a masters degree from Syracuse University and is a graduate of the National War College in Washington, DC.

Mr. Blacks wife, Aster, is a long-time American Red Cross employee who currently serves as the Station Manager at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.
