CPR, AED & First Aid Courses

 Adult CPR-- Adult CPR deals with victims eight years of age or older. This course covers all cardiac and breathing emergency skills, including, how to perform rescue breathing, clear an obstructed airway, and perform one rescuer CPR. Adult CPR & First Aid Basics-- Learn rescue breathing, how to clear an obstructed airway, and how to perform one-rescuer CPR on victims eight years of age or older. Course also includes basic first aid skills such as how to treat life-threatening bleeding, burns, musculoskeletal injuries, shock and sudden illnesses.

Adult CPR with Automated External Defibrillator Skills-- Teaches how to recognize and care for breathing emergencies in adults and how to perform one-rescuer CPR and/or use an Automated External Defibrillators (AED) to restart the heart of a cardiac arrest victim. Includes emergency action principles, rescue breathing, response procedures for choking, cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adults and AED training.

Adult, Infant and Child CPR-- This comprehensive CPR course provides training for use with adult, infant, and child victims in a variety of emergency situations. Skills include performing rescue breathing, clearing an obstructed airway, and performing one-rescuer CPR. You will also discuss cardiovascular disease and injury prevention.

CPR for the Professional Rescuer-- (One or Two rescuer CPR for Adult, Infant and Child This advanced-level course is designed for those with a job-related duty to act in an emergency situation (law enforcement officials, lifeguards, health care professionals). Participants learn how to care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, infants, and children, perform one- and two-rescuer CPR techniques, and learn how to use a resuscitation mask and bag-valve mask.

CPR for the Professional Rescuer with Automated External Defibrillator Skills-- (One or Two rescuer CPR for Adult, Infant and Child) This advanced-level course is designed for those with a job-related duty to act in an emergency situation (law inforcement officials, lifeguards, health care professionals). Participants learn how to care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, infants and children, perform one- and two-rescuer CPR techniques and/or use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to restart the heart of a cardiac arrest victim, and learn how to use a resuscitation mask and bag-valve mask.

Emergency Response (First Responder)-- Learn the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a first responder in an emergency to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until advanced medical help arrives. You will be eligible for reciprocity, upon receiving a passing score on the State of Maryland exam, to receive state certification as a First Responder. >NOTE:This class meets 7 days. Additional dates are Oct.8 9am-5, Oct.10 6pm-10, Oct.12 6pm-10, Oct.14 6pm-10, Oct.15 9am-5, and Oct.17 6pm-10

First Aid and Preparedness-- Through this program, each person is challenged to take five steps (Make a plan, Build a kit, Get trained, Volunteer and Give Blood) to help make their families, workplaces, schools and neighborhoods safer. Students will be given information regarding unconscious choking, breathing emergencies, shock, bleeding, burns, allergic reactions and injuries.

First Aid Basics-- Trains participants to identify and care for victims of illness and sudden injuries. You will learn how to control bleeding, minimize the effects of shock, and care fdor musculoskeletal injuries and sudden illness due to poisoning and heat and cold related emergencies.

Infant and Child CPR-- This course is indispensable for anyone who is in frequent contact with infants and small children. The course focuses on overcoming any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in children under the age of eight.Group Training- On-site training can be arranged for your group of 8 or more, by calling 410-624-2074 or 1-800-787-8002.

Infant and Child CPR and First Aid-- This course is designed to train parents and caregivers to overcome any reluctance to act during emergency situations involving children under the age of eight. Learn rescue breathing, how to clear an obstructed airway,one-rescuer CPR, first aid for choking victims, how to control bleeding, and how to treat common injuries.

Wilderness First Aid-- This course is designed to teach first aid skills and knowledge for setting in which emergency care is delayed for long periods, or self evacuation is necessary. Learn adult CPR, how to identify causes of injuries and ways injuries can be prevented in wilderness areas. Gain experience providing wilderness first aid through the means of scenarios and simulated rescures that test knowledge and skills.
