Job Description Summary

TOURISTS’ goal in all positions is to exceed the expectations of our guests. The Art and Adventure associate is an entry level position which contributes to that experience by possessing knowledge of local activities, attractions, entertainment, health & wellness, galleries, museums, businesses, venues and travel options. This role is responsible for assisting the Art and Adventure Coordinator in the organization and execution of planned activities as well as assisting guests with their plans as in a concierge capacity. This position includes cross training with the front desk to be available for guest questions and team support. 

This is a very visible position and all TOURISTS staff are expected to greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome. Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a positive people-pleaser, and motivated to see all tasks through the finish line.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities

Guest Experience 

  • Support Art and Adventure Coordinator and key players to provide a robust art and adventure program.
  • Assist in delivering youth and adult amenity programs for TOURISTS guests- including walks, crafts, hikes, wellbeing experiences.
  • Assist Front Desk as needed and be a resource for their interactions with guests regarding programs and activities and cultural experiences.
  • When not in direct programming, maintain a presence to be available for guest questions.
  • Review guest pre-stay surveys for possible proactive recommendations
  • Restock supplies related to programs/activities and other recommendations
  • Coordinate programs and activities
  • Ensure gear and supplies are ready for use
  • Assist in set-up of experiences
  • Ensure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns 
  • Resolve conflicts and service recovery
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition. Communicate supply needs and inventory to the Art & Adventure Coordinator.
  • Execute the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to our quality standards.

  • Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements

Education & Experience

Related experience in hospitality, service industry and/or activities programming or a desire to learn. Valued but not required skills: outdoor leadership experience, yoga or fitness instruction, arts & craft instruction, work with children, event coordination.
