Job Title : Business Analyst

Location: Hybrid (Austin, Texas)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

Required Qualifications:

• Requirements Elicitation: Experience conducting interviews with customers to gather requirements and translating them into well-written system requirements documents.
• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Business Process Re-engineering: Proven ability to analyze and improve software process flows and business operations.
• User Stories & Use Cases: Experience developing user stories and use cases that align with industry best practices.
• UI/UX Mockups: Ability to design mockups and wireframes that follow UX best practices.
• Communication & Facilitation: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions among stakeholders.
• Organization & Documentation: Excellent writing and organizational skills to document and manage business requirements effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Modern Requirements Experience: Hands-on experience using the requirements management software "Modern Requirements."
• JIRA Experience: Familiarity with issue tracking and project management using "Atlassian Jira."
• Education Sector Experience: Prior experience working for or in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) or other state/local education agencies.
• TEA Application Knowledge: Experience working with TEA applications such as FSP, TSDS, or TEA Help Desk.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with stakeholders to elicit, document, and manage business and system requirements.
• Develop detailed system requirement documents, user stories, and use cases.
• Collaborate with software development and UX teams to design user-friendly mockups and wireframes.
• Facilitate discussions with business users, product owners, and developers to ensure alignment on project objectives.
• Analyze and re-engineer business processes to optimize efficiency and improve software workflows.
• Utilize industry-standard tools such as Modern Requirements and Jira to track and manage requirements.
• Provide documentation and support throughout the SDLC, ensuring traceability of requirements from inception to implementation.
• Assist in testing and validation of system functionalities to ensure compliance with business needs.
• Support change management activities and stakeholder communication.
