Under the administrative direction of Chief Deputy Director, Employment Development Department, the Business Director is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the EDDNext Project program efforts. The Business Director leads and oversees all activities of the Transformation Office, which is responsible for the ongoing transformation and modernization of EDD’s benefit programs. The Business Director will ensure, from a business perspective, the Unemployment Insurance, State Disability Insurance, and Tax program needs are met, including working in partnership with the Project Director on a solid procurement strategy and achieving the defined goals of the EDDNext project. The Business Director will work collaboratively with the Project Technical Director to oversee the development and direct execution of the project as it relates to the Department’s business areas (including the recommendation of new policy and policy changes related to the use of information for the benefit and tax programs), and determining strategy for the ongoing success of the EDDNext system, once operational.
