Job Description
The Cashier/Food Prep position is responsible for providing friendly, efficient service to customers by greeting them, taking orders, preparing food, processing payments, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area. This role ensures that food is prepared to quality standards, beverages and condiments are replenished, and all health and safety regulations are followed in accordance with Food Safety and HACCP guidelines. Cash handling duties include operating a point-of-sale system, balancing the cash drawer, issuing receipts, and ensuring accurate transactions. The position also involves promoting products, maintaining a clean dining environment, and ensuring quick service to minimize customer wait times.
This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with basic math skills and some prior experience in food service or cash handling. The position involves standing for long periods, repetitive hand use, and occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. The work takes place indoors in a restaurant setting and may include operating equipment such as fryers, coffee brewers, and ice cream machines. The employee must obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days of hire and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
