Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Chemistry Analyst in our pet food laboratory. You will conduct analytical testing on raw materials and finished products using chromatography and liquid chromatography techniques. Your work will help assess the shelf life, nutritional value, and stability of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in the use and application of specialized analytical instrumentation.
  • Support nutritional testing, pre-mix, pre-blends, mixer studies, raw ingredients, developmental products, and finished product analysis.
  • Operate instruments such as ICP, ICP MS, Leco Protein Analyzers, Fat Extractors, Auto Titrators, TGA, HPLC, GC, and perform Wet Chemistry tests.
  • Assist scientists and engineers in the laboratory environment by collecting samples and performing biological or chemical analysis.
  • Plan, design, and conduct laboratory experiments to test chemical specifications.
  • Estimate resources and time required for experiments and monitor performance to meet targets.
  • Collect, prepare, and test samples while recording observations.
  • Prepare detailed reports with recommendations, applications, and conclusions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GC, and ICP.
  • Background in chromatography, chemistry, and quality assurance testing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or natural/food sciences with emphasis in Analytical Chemistry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with LCMSMS, ICP-OES, and GC-FID is advantageous.
  • Candidates with analytical chemistry experience or background are preferred.

Work Environment

This role is based in a laboratory setting with a shift schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 8am to 4:30pm. The position offers a great opportunity for entry-level candidates to gain experience in a large lab environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50/hr.
