Overview

Anne Kaye Academy of Dance is the premier dance studio serving Lake Nona, Saint Cloud, and surrounding communities. We are looking for experienced dance instructors interested in joining our dance family! AKA is seeking dance instructors with experience in teaching one or more of the following styles:

• Tap
• Ballet
• Hip Hop
• Breakdancing
• Ballroom
• Contemporary / Lyrical
• Jazz
• Early childhood / pre school aged dancers

Requirements for applicants to this role include:

• Must have regular daytime and/or evening availability to teach classes
• Must provide your own consistent transportation to and from the studio
• At least some teaching or choreography experience is preferred
• Skill in the dance styles you’re teaching, with strong knowledge of technique
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages and levels
• …and of course, a passion for dance and dance culture!
• Nice to have, but not required: Ability to speak Spanish

As part of the application process, you’ll be asked to teach a master class (a dance workshop) to real students this summer, prior to joining the team. You will be compensated for this work at a rate of $50/hour. This master class gives you the opportunity to explore the studio, meet other staff, and determine if joining AKA feels like a good fit!

Responsibilities include:

• Instruct students in the dance style you are hired to teach
• Develop and implement lesson plans that promote technical skills, creativity, and self-expression
• Provide individual feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their technique and performance
• Choreograph and prepare students for recitals, competitions, or performances
• Independently organize and bring to fruition various recital, competition, and performance dances—including creative considerations like costume choice, song selection and cuts, and overall stage presence
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and drives dance excellence

Additional details:

• This is an onsite role—all dance instruction occurs in-person at our dance studio on Narcoossee Road in Saint Cloud, FL
• Compensation varies based on education and experience; the starting rate for AKA instructors is $25/hour
