**A Day in the Life:**
_The Director, Global Corporate Communications is an integral leader within a high impact global communications team, focused on creating and executing an effective corporate and financial communications strategy for The Hertz Corporation and its Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty rental car brands._
_This role drives the corporate narrative through sophisticated media relations, financial communications, and strategic issue management. This position has a significant impact on building and protecting the company's reputation with the media and other key external stakeholders._
_This person will strategically manage corporate communications including quarterly earnings, financial announcements, litigation matters, and corporate initiatives. Establishing and cultivating media relationships, particularly with NYC-based financial and business media, are at the core of this position. This person will also proactively pitch and promote content on earned, stakeholder and owned channels in support of the company's corporate narrative. Foundational to this role is a sophisticated understanding of corporate and financial communications, reputation management and investor relations support. The successful candidate will be an intellectually curious and creative communicator, focused on continually learning about our business. They will develop and maintain relationships both within Hertz and among key external stakeholders, focused on excellent execution of complex corporate communications strategies._
_We expect the starting salary to start around 120K; commensurate with experience._
**What You'll Do:**
+ Create and execute sophisticated corporate and financial communications strategies that engage business media, investors and other key stakeholders in Hertz's transformation story to build corporate reputation and support business objectives
+ Develop and execute comprehensive earnings communications including press releases, executive talking points, Q&A documents, and media strategy
+ Build, maintain and leverage strong relationships with NYC-based financial and business media outlets, editors, reporters and influencers to support coverage of the company's financial performance and corporate initiatives
+ Manage rapid response communications for rapidly evolving financial and corporate issues, including market-moving news and crisis situations
+ Serve as a company spokesperson on corporate and financial matters
+ Develop and implement thought leadership strategies for C-suite executives with business and financial media
+ Provide strategic coordination and counsel for the global Communications team across corporate communications, financial disclosures, and litigation issues
+ Serve as a trusted advisor providing communications counsel to senior leaders of the organization including preparation for earnings calls, investor meetings, and media interactions
+ Leverage effective monitoring and measurement tools that lead to actionable insights for continuous improvement across corporate communications strategies
+ Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information, litigation matters, and other material non-public information
**What We're Looking For:**
+ Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Communications, Business, Finance, English or Journalism.
+ Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field required with proven financial communications experience, with a minimum of 4 years in-house or agency experience supporting major national or global business-to-consumer brand.
+ Established relationships with NYC-based financial and business media, including top-tier outlets and financial trade publications
+ Superior communication skills include exceptional writing, strategic and clear thinking, and executive communications development.
+ Experience within travel or automotive industries is not required but beneficial.
**What We're Looking For:**
