Position Title: Director of Spa and Wellness
Department: Spa and Wellness
Reports To: General Manager

Position Summary: As the Director of Spa and Wellness at Whim Hospitality, you will helm Folklore, our new spa featuring a pool, 12 treatment rooms, a bar, and retail space. This strategic leadership role is pivotal in executing Kim's specific vision, ensuring alignment with Whim Hospitality's brand, and delivering exceptional spa and wellness experiences. You'll manage day-to-day operations and lead a dedicated team towards providing outstanding service while upholding high standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Vision and Strategy:
   • Collaborate closely with the owners to execute and maintain their specific vision for Folklore, ensuring alignment at all levels.
   • Develop and implement strategic business plans, including marketing strategies and strategic partnerships that enhance the brand's reputation.
2. Spa Development and Operations:
   • Oversee the launch and ongoing operations of Folklore, from conceptual development to the implementation of exemplary wellness experiences.
   • Design spa menus and create operational processes and SOPs, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service delivery.
3. Leadership and Team Management:
   • Recruit, hire, and train staff to maintain high service standards. Empower team members through continuous mentoring and support for professional growth.
   • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure optimal staffing levels and manage resources efficiently.
4. Financial Management:
   • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, payroll, and financial performance to meet revenue targets and maintain profitability.
   • Set competitive pricing strategies and manage inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
5. Guest Experience and Innovation:
   • Ensure a memorable guest experience through exceptional customer service. Implement loyalty programs and special promotions.
   • Stay informed on industry trends, introduce innovative services, and periodically train therapists on the latest techniques.
6. Compliance and Safety:
   • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and employment regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
   • Conduct audits and inspections to maintain rigorous compliance and service standards.
7. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Work closely with marketing, sales, and event planning teams to integrate wellness programs effectively and coordinate promotional strategies.
   • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and maintain positive vendor partnerships to enhance service offerings.
8. Project and Growth Management:
   • Create a comprehensive pre-opening strategy, oversee spa setup and logistics, and ensure readiness for opening day.
   • Develop long-term strategies for growth, analyze performance metrics, and provide updates to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Hospitality, Health Sciences, or a related field; certification in spa management or wellness preferred.
• Experience:
  Minimum of 5 years of experience in spa management or wellness program development
• Skills:
  Strong leadership and management skills, with a focus on talent development and delivering exceptional guest service.
  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  Proven ability to design and implement financial strategies, analyze performance, and manage budgets effectively.
• Knowledge:
  Understanding of spa and wellness trends, treatments, and best practices, along with knowledge in retail management and team dynamics.
