GENERAL SUMMARY
The DPS Corporal coordinates the functions of the floor officers within all the different operations of the Casino and is the first line of supervision for DPS. The Floor Corporal ensures that floor officer’s follow all polices, procedures, and general orders. The Floor Corporal is a hands-on facilitator for Pechanga Resort Casino and DPS policies and procedures, as well as, being knowledgeable of the violations of common California Penal Code Laws.
FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort Casino.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for daily staffing and assignments of each officer for their shift.
- Ensure a safe environment at all times at Pechanga Resort Casino.
- Ensure all policies, rules, regulations, and laws as it pertains to PRC are followed and upheld.
- Enforce gaming regulations in accordance with the internal control policy.
- Make certain that employees have a clear understanding of their responsibilities.
- Effectively handle Team Member concerns.
- Responsible for daily briefing covering all activities occurring in and out of the Casino.
- Responsible for officer productivity and quality of work.
- Keep correct documentation of all logs, issuances of keys, and cards at post 7A.
- Maintain correct documentation on the storage and destruction of playing cards.
- Insure the destruction of sensitive materials is being shredded correctly.
- Will act as first line of supervisory corrective measures.
- Insure all officers are given their breaks and lunch periods.
- Insure officers are complying with Casino and Leadership goals and objectives.
- Display a high level of emotional maturity when handling work situations and keep them in proper perspective.
- Other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY: The DPS Corporal has supervisory responsibilities including training, performance journaling and making valuable recommendations for performance evaluations. The Team Member is responsible for protecting the assets of PRC.

QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. Minimum 6 months’ experience as a DPS Officer at Pechanga Resort Casino. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and at least 5 years’ relative experience in Military, Public Safety, or Law Enforcement is required to successfully perform this job.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to work with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must qualify to obtain and maintain a class “A” gaming license.
- Weapons Permit, CA Baton permit, Pepper Spray permit.
- Title 31.
• PC 832.
• FEMA.
- Responsible Beverage Service.
- CA Guard Card.
- Driver’s License.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Ability to observe, assimilate, remember, record, and recall pertinent facts and details.
- Must ability to speak clearly on a radio.
- Ability to understand, practice and enforce safety procedures, and precautions.
- Must be outgoing, energetic, and capable of interacting with the general public in a highly professional manner.
- Possess great integrity, a team player, and be a supportive and effective listener that seeks to motivate, coach, and mentor the team.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment.
- Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work with a positive attitude in a fast paced and culturally diverse casino environment.
- Must have own duty gear.
