Job Summary

The Comcast Customer Engagement Proactive Notification team is seeking a dynamic Front-End Engineer to join our software development & engineering group. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative and extensible solutions that enhance customer experience and service reliability during both planned and unplanned outages. You will play a key role in providing essential information to technicians and customers throughout their maintenance journeys. An Engineer 1 is responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications, and completes programming and implements, tests and debugs defined software components.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level UI/Front-End Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, debugging, and maintaining user interfaces for our software products and platforms. You will work closely with backend engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of front-end components. This role requires a willingness to learn and adapt, as well as the ability to work under general supervision.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain user interfaces for web applications.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate front-end components with server-side logic.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new features.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining automated tests for front-end code.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Build and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for live user interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in a timely manner.
  • Follow best practices for code quality, maintainability, and performance.
  • Document and maintain records of defects and enhancements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks/libraries
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
  • Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
