Sound Law Group LLP, a distinguished family law firm located in San Francisco, welcomes applications for the position of Associate Attorney. Our premier boutique firm is consistently recognized for its exceptional service, legal expertise, and client impact throughout the family law process.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of litigation experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ethical foundation, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently manage cases toward resolution.

As a remote-friendly firm, we offer flexibility while maintaining the expectation of in-person court appearances and client meetings within the Bay Area. We strongly prefer an in-state candidate but will consider attorneys licensed in California who live in locations with quick and accessible flights to the state.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation & Legal Strategy

  • Draft and respond to Requests for Orders (RFOs)
  • Handle law and motion hearings with confidence
  • Collaborate with partners on trial preparation and case strategy

Discovery & Case Management

  • Develop comprehensive discovery plans
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate evidence
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Prepare discovery motions and supporting materials

Client & Case Oversight

  • Identify and analyze key legal issues
  • Utilize case management software for efficiency
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and experts

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • California Bar License (required)
  • Experience handling family law litigation and procedural nuances
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
  • Strong case management and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel for court appearances and client meetings in the Bay Area
  • Comfort working in a remote-first environment while maintaining professional excellence
