Role:

The Financial Analyst role is critical in supporting the financial planning and analysis functions, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial modeling, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights that support decision-making across the organization. Partnering with the VP of Finance, this position will develop detailed reporting and presentations for communication to various committees, executive leadership, and board members.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze actual financial results versus budget and forecast; identify key drivers of variances and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives, scenario planning, and investment decisions.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts; collaborate with department leaders to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Assist in administering ALM functions, including reporting, analysis, scenario planning, stress testing, and vendor mgt.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders; ensure accuracy, clarity, and timeliness.
  • Use financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; provide recommendations to improve financial performance.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a credit union or financial services environment.
  • (1) A bachelor's degree (in Finance, Business or related field), or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills:

  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable reports and presentations for different audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools; experience with budgeting software and data visualization platforms is a plus.
  • Strict attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

  • On a weekly basis all WFH employees are required to be in office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Based on the demands of specific tasks or department requirements, WFH employees may need to be available for in office work at their manager's discretion. Working from the office may be necessary for certain collaborative tasks.
