Job Title: Portrait Photographer

Entry-Mid Level 

Location: Detroit, MI

Job Type: Contract/Part Time

Compensation: $25-$50/hr

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and creative Portrait Photographer to specialize in capturing memorable moments for clients, including senior portraits, prom photos, family photos, birthday photos, and other themed portrait shoots. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio in portrait photography, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to create a comfortable and enjoyable experience for clients. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Shoot and edit high-quality portrait sessions tailored to each client’s needs.
• Set up and operate photography equipment, including cameras, tripods, and lighting gear. 
• Direct and pose clients to create natural and flattering compositions.
• Utilize natural and studio lighting techniques to enhance images.
• Retouch and edit photos to ensure professional quality and client satisfaction.
• Deliver final images in a timely manner, adhering to deadlines. 

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience as a portrait photographer with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in using professional DSLR or mirrorless cameras and lenses. 
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or other editing software. 
• Experience with both natural and artificial lighting setups. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to guide clients during shoots. 
• Ability to work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. 
• Strong attention to detail and creative vision. 
• Reliable transportation to travel to various shoot locations. 
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
