We are a respected civil engineering and land development firm with a strong commitment to quality, client satisfaction, and community impact. Our small but dedicated survey division plays a key role in supporting our engineering projects. As we look to expand, we seek a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor to bring a strong business acumen and productivity focus to the team. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow the survey division and set new standards of excellence.

Position Overview:

The Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) will oversee and enhance the productivity and business operations of our survey division. This role is ideal for a licensed surveyor with a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and an interest in driving growth. The PLS will be responsible for conducting boundary reviews, preparing proposals, ensuring accurate plan review, and delivering high-quality results. This position requires a Pennsylvania PLS license, with New Jersey licensure highly preferred, and additional state licenses a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the survey division, ensuring productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Perform boundary checks, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, and review survey plans to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering and design teams, bringing technical and business expertise to enhance project outcomes.
  • Review and approve all survey-related plans before final submission, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Prepare proposals, manage client communications, and contribute to business development efforts to grow the survey division.
  • Supervise or collaborate with field crew members, draftspersons, and other survey staff.
  • Stay current with state licensure requirements and oversee compliance for survey projects in PA, NJ, and other applicable states.

Qualifications:

  • Active PLS license in Pennsylvania (required), with New Jersey licensure highly preferred; additional state licensures (NY, DE, MD) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in land surveying, preferably within a land development or civil engineering setting.
  • Strong business orientation with a track record of proposal writing, client interaction, and managing project productivity.
  • Proficiency in survey software and technology, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GPS/GIS equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with experience managing single-person field crews.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Why Join Us?

  • Play a pivotal role in the growth of our survey division and influence strategic direction.
  • Work with a collaborative team on diverse land development projects across multiple states.
  • Competitive salary, professional development opportunities, and room for advancement.
