Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer with an emphasis on Water Resources. Baxter & Woodman works with municipal and private development clients on projects of all size, putting the client and the solution first – solving problems for people. What your day-to-day will look like

  • Manage civil/water resources study and design projects.
  • Develop business in the Florida region.
  • Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models of municipal stormwater systems.
  • Prepare drainage studies and stormwater masterplans.
  • Analysis and design of municipal neighborhood improvements including stormwater facilities (open channels, culverts, storm sewers, detention basins, etc.).
  • Address resiliency, LID, Sea Level Rise, and climate change impacts in design
  • Preparation of plans and specifications for construction.
  • Performing quality control of stormwater models, reports, and/or design.
  • Permitting with local, state, and federal permitting agencies.
  • Preparation of competitive proposals and participation in interviews.
  • Represent Baxter & Woodman at municipal and developer meetings.

Education/Certification Requirements

  • 4-year B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, with emphasis in water resources engineering preferred.
  • FloridaP.E. License required (or the ability to obtain through reciprocity).

Must-haves, what you will bring

  • 10+ years of experience in the design of civil stormwater projects.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of infrastructure design and plan preparation.
  • Expertise in hydrology and hydraulics.
  • Expertise with H&H modeling (– Stormwise/ICPR preferred).
  • Experience in consulting engineering, public works, or construction.
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman service area (own transportation).
  • Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D is preferred) and ArcGIS is a plus.

Compensation The pay range for this role is $115,000-$140,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
