As a Senior Software Tester at Focus School Software, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will lead testing efforts, mentor testers, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, delivering training sessions to enhance their skills and knowledge.



  • Complex Feature Testing: Test intricate new and existing features with a focus on thoroughness and accuracy.



  • Expertise: Demonstrate expert knowledge in specific areas of Focus, becoming a go-to resource for complex issues.



  • Test Plan Development: Develop comprehensive test plans for large and complex features, ensuring all aspects are thoroughly covered.



  • Technical Proficiency: Possess a strong understanding of technical concepts, including SQL and browser debugging consoles.



  • High-Quality Work in Fast-Paced Environment: Maintain testing quality and deliver results efficiently in a fast-paced environment.



  • Bug-Free Testing: Ensure the highest quality of testing with minimal defects and bugs.



  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement measures to prevent recurrence.



  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest testing tools, technologies, and industry trends to maintain a cutting-edge approach.



  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


Qualifications: 



  • Minimum of two years of experience as an employee at Focus School Software or a minimum of four years of experience as a school or district-level administrator working directly with the Focus suite of products.



  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, team leadership, and providing guidance on Focus’ suite of products and best practices.



  • Proven ability to support and evaluate software releases, contribute to user acceptance testing (UAT), and participate in planning and process development activities.



  • Strong understanding of SQL, debugging tools, and web technologies; experience with PHP and JavaScript is a plus.



  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.



  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining high quality standards.
