Job Description

Job Title: Exceptional Children Teacher

Location: Research Triangle Area, North Carolina

Job Type: Full-Time, In-person, 10-month employment

Position Summary: We seek dedicated and passionate Exceptional Children Teachers to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with disabilities, adapting curriculum, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet the diverse needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and educational programs tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student growth and development.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies to ensure academic success.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement from all students.
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation required for IEPs and assessments.
  • Provide support and guidance to students to help them develop social and emotional skills.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training to stay current on best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education 
  • Must reside and work in the U.S.
  • Ability to pass a federal-level background check, which may include fingerprinting
  • Experience working with children with various disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance) preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt instructional methods to diverse learning styles and needs.
