Job Description

Our public accounting client is immediately hiring a 100% remote Tax Manager (must reside in the USA). They are a technology-focused, remote accounting firm specializing in tax preparation, financial statement review, and business consulting for small to medium-sized businesses. 

MUST HAVE:

• 5+ years of experience doing Tax Return Review/Prep, Financial Statement Review, and Consulting
• Recent experience with and proficiency in Thomson Reuters UltraTax and QuickBooks 
• Strong experience in Excel
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance, payroll tax, and sales tax filings
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

NICE TO HAVE:

• CPA license
• Experience mentoring and providing feedback to staff
• Familiarity with IRS correspondence processes
• Strong analytical skills for financial data interpretation

DAY TO DAY:
As the Tax Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing and finalizing financial statements in QuickBooks to ensure accuracy and compliance. You will also prepare and review corporate, personal, partnership, and trust tax returns while identifying opportunities for tax optimization. Client interaction will be a key part of your work, including reviewing financials, offering tax planning advice, and addressing any outstanding issues. Additionally, you will have direct reports (bookkeepers and more junior accountants). Regular communication with clients and colleagues will be essential to maintaining efficiency and delivering high-quality service.
