Term Lecturer, DanceJob Summary:
The Dance Department at Barnard College seeks a full-time Term Lecturer to teach undergraduate courses. This is a two-year position beginning on July 1, 2025, with teaching responsibilities during the standard academic year from September through May.Job Description:
Term Lecturers are expected to teach three courses per semester.
Applicants should have experience teaching all levels of Ballet, classical modern techniques (such as Horton and Limon), and Contemporary somatic-based techniques. Experience teaching all levels of improvisation is also required, along with a demonstrated interest in and experience in community-building curricula.
Teaching responsibilities will include both lecture and studio classes.
Exact instructional assignments and other academic responsibilities are
determined by the Chair or Director.

Terminal degree in a related discipline, with all requirements for the degree completed by the time of hiring offer.

Salary: $85,500
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
