Description SUMMARY: Transport Driver is responsible for transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to wholesale customers and retail bulk facilities. Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. SLIP SEAT- NIGHT SHIFT POSITION Duties & Responsibilites - Deliver goods while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states.
- Load and unload cargo.
- Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
- Drive long distances.
- Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
- Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
- Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws.
- Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
- Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
- Keep a log of their activities.
- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
- Get goods to client on time.
- Transport hazardous materials.
- Take special precautions while driving.
Skills & Experience - Valid driver’s license- Class A, CDL license with Hazmat & Tanker Endorsement REQUIRED
- 2 YRS WITH CDL PREFERRED
- 2 YRS OF INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
- TWIC Card REQUIRED
- Pass PEP Training (Formally known as CETP)
- Desire to grow and accelerate with the company
- Good customer relations
- Must have a positive, upbeat attitude
Working Conditions And Physical Demands Driving a company vehicle. This job operates in the field, and you will be entering the customers’ homes and/or place of business. Working in hot attics or cold places must always provide an excellent and positive attitude toward the customer. While performing the duties of this job in the field, the employee is occasionally exposed to small working spaces, fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions due to weather.
Qualifications - Must have a valid Class A CDL driver’s license with Haz Mat & Tanker Endorsement

- 1 – 2 years driving experience
