UM UCMC is seeking experienced Telemetry RNs with Progressive Care Unit (PCU) skills to work on a higher-acuity telemetry unit (3E CPU) . Nurses must be confident caring for complex cardiac, respiratory, and renal patients. This is an auto-offer job —no interview will be conducted.

• Minimum Experience: 2 years of Telemetry + some PCU experience
• Must be able to care for higher acuity patients
• Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
• Charting System: Epic – Preferred
• Travel Experience: Not required

• Required:
  • BLS (AHA only)
  • CPI (Calm Every Storm online version only)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Preferred:
  • ACLS (AHA)

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• COPD Exacerbations
• NSTEMI
• New A-Fib / Arrhythmias
• Sepsis
• Renal Failure
• Post-MI
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath

Cardiac/Telemetry:

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
• Cardiac drip management (non-titrating)
• TR Band use (preferred)
• Heparin protocols
• Use of Rapid Response/Code Teams

IV Therapy & Lines:

• Blood product administration
• Peripheral line and PICC management
• Phlebotomy
• Chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• Nasal cannula oxygen delivery

Professional Practice:

• Infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Genitourinary management – renal failure
• Calm Every Storm (CPI) for de-escalation

• Beds: 30
• Rooms: 22

• Daily Census: ~30
