Urology - Physician at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem Hospital - Physician Affiliate Group of New York summary:

A board-certified Urologist providing comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and surgical care for genitourinary conditions at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. Responsibilities include performing laparoscopic and robotic surgeries, supervising advanced practice staff, and using specialized diagnostic equipment. Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Urologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem . The Hospital is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals. Harlem Hospital is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized for providing centers of excellence in the areas of Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging and Sexual Assault Forensics. Our teams provide services for nearly 213,000 outpatient visits, more than 83,000 emergency room visits and over 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons . To maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

The primary function is to provide comprehensive, compassionate quality care to the patients of Health and Hospitals/Harlem. Under supervision of the Department Chairperson with broad latitude for independent judgement and initiative, the Staff Physician is an integral part of the medical team at the facility. They are expected to take a leading role in the delivery of health care services to patients in addition to being responsible for the supervision of the advanced practice practitioner staff.

  • Laparoscopic and robotic surgical experience
  • Examining, diagnosing, and treating patient conditions and disorders of the genitourinary organs and tracts.
  • Documenting and reviewing patients' histories.
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Using specialized equipment, such as X-rays, fluoroscopes, and catheters.
  • Performing abdominal, pelvic, or retroperitoneal surgeries when necessary.
  • Treating lower urinary tract dysfunctions.
  • Prescribing and administering antibiotics, antiseptics, or compresses to treat infections or injuries.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree(MD or DO)
  • Board certified/eligible Urologist who must have completed an ACGME urology residency
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of New York
  • New York Medical License/Active NYS DEA

Wages and Benefits Include: Annual Base Salary: $165,950* based on 20-hour work week.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $238,429**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
