What to Expect Tesla's vehicle ergonomics team is looking for an intuitive problem solver to own the complete occupant package and ergonomic performance of future production vehicles. Successful candidates will have a record of excellence and a thorough working knowledge of vehicle occupant packaging, vehicle ergonomics, human factors, and engineering design. Key objectives are to achieve high spatial efficiency and excellent ergonomics whilst meeting all relevant legislative requirements. The ability to fit into small and highly motivated multi-functional teams is essential, as is competent CAD usage. The role offers the rare opportunity to take ownership in the development of genuinely cutting-edge vehicles, so enthusiasm and knowledge of vehicles is advantageous. You must have a passion for engineering the best electric vehicles in the world. What You'll Do Develop, validate, organize, and maintain vehicle occupant package, ergonomic criteria, and processes Sub-disciplines of responsibility will include driver and passenger positioning, driver controls, driver vision (direct and indirect), ingress/egress, cabin roominess, cargo area, general usability, and interior reflections Work with vehicle engineering, styling and design, and program management to implement optimally packaged ergonomic solutions for production vehicles Perform digital and physical assessments of criteria against design and engineering proposals Develop and run focus studies to establish ergonomic compliance What You'll Bring 2+ years of proven experience in vehicle occupant packaging, ergonomics, or human factors Ability to understand the needs and usage habits of vehicle customers with different anthropometry, backgrounds, and preferences Excellent knowledge of CATIA, 3DExperience, or equivalent CAD software Experience as a liaison between automotive designers, vehicle engineering, clay modelers, studio management, manufacturing engineering, and marketing teams Thorough understanding of automotive engineering guidelines (ex. SAE and ISO), laws and regulations (ex.
