About the role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Water Resources Manager in our Water Resources Practice in Houston, TX. Our water resources team is thriving in Florida and Illinois, and we are looking to expand our services to the Houston area market. The Water Resources Manager would work to support our project teams in Florida and Illinois, support our civil engineering teams in Texas, and lead the creation of a new Texas Water Resources Department. The ideal candidate is familiar with the Houston and surrounding area stormwater practices, is a self-starter, and has the drive to lead our team and expand our services.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Lead the expansion of water resources services and business development initiatives in Texas.
  • Identify Water Resources service targets and contribute to development of expansion plan.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Lead development Hydrologic and Hydraulic models of municipal storm sewer and sanitary collection systems.
  • Prepare Drainage Studies and Stormwater Masterplans.
  • Analysis and Design of municipal Stormwater facilities (open channels, culverts, storm sewers, detention basins, green infrastructure, etc...).
  • Design of Plans and Specifications for Construction.
  • Performing Quality Control of Stormwater models, reports, and/or design.
  • Permitting with local, state, and federal permitting agencies.
  • Preparation of competitive proposals and participating in interviews.
  • Representing Baxter & Woodman at Municipal meetings.

Education/Certification Requirements

  • 4-year B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, with emphasis in water resources engineering preferred.
  • Registered Professional Engineer License.

Must-haves, what you will bring

  • 10+ years of experience in the design/management of Stormwater projects.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of infrastructure design and plan preparation.
  • Expertise in Houston Area hydrology and hydraulics.
  • Experience in Consulting Engineering, Public Works, or Construction.
  • Ability to travel throughout Houston area (own transportation).
  • Strong verbal, computer, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Compensation: The pay range for this role is $115,000 - $140,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
