Commercial Roofing Estimator

Position Overview
The Commercial Roofing Estimator will be responsible for accurately calculating the costs associated with commercial roofing projects. This role involves analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed estimates that meet client needs while ensuring profitability for the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project plans and specifications to develop accurate estimates for commercial roofing projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, and overhead costs for various roofing systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bids.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure quality materials.
• Evaluate project risks and provide insights on potential cost-saving measures.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements and scope.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with client specifications and deadlines.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients and subcontractors to achieve optimal project margins.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a roofing estimator in the commercial sector.
• Strong experience with Edge estimating software
• Strong knowledge of large-scale commercial low-slope roofing systems
• Familiarity with construction processes and project management principles.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills to accurately calculate costs.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations, particularly IBC compliance.
