We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team on a part-time basis (25-30 hours a week). This firm is a dedicated employment law firm committed to advocating for employees' rights in the workplace. Their practice focuses on workplace discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage disputes, and other employment-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys in employment law cases
• Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
• Assist with case management, including organizing case files, maintaining calendars, and tracking deadlines
• Conduct legal research on employment law issues and summarize findings
• Prepare and file court documents, discovery responses, and administrative complaints
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and government agencies
• Assist in preparing for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with legal procedures and firm policies

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Certification, or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, preferably in employment law or a related field
• Skills:
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Compensation:

$22-$24 Hourly (DOE)
