TITLE: Interpreter/Translator - Part-time

RESPONSIBLE TO: Clinical Director

WORK AREA: Chapel Hill, Siler City, Pittsboro,

NC and surrounding areas

Compensation: 1099 $25.00/hr

SUMMARY: Renaissance Wellness Services (RWS), an expanding force in the realm of mental

and behavioral health, is on the lookout for an outstanding individual to join our organization.

across North Carolina, we're eager to welcome a part-time interpreter who shares our passion

for breaking down barriers and will be a driving force in making mental health care accessible

and transformative for all. You’ll be an essential part of our unique, collaborative care team,

helping families navigate their healthcare needs with ease.

Tasks with actual blood/body fluid exposure are not included in this position’s duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Must be fluent in English and Spanish.

General Responsibilities

• Provide real-time, accurate verbal interpretation between Spanish and English during mental health

assessments, therapy sessions, and other mental health sessions provided by the company.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of mental health terminology to ensure clarity and cultural

relevance.

• Maintain confidentiality and always adhere to HIPAA and agency privacy standards.

• Interpret in a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed manner that supports client comfort and clinical

effectiveness.

• Accurately translate clinical documentation or client-facing materials when requested.

• Collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative staff to coordinate interpretation needs.

• Remain flexible and responsive to scheduling needs, with availability for primarily virtual sessions.

• Ensure professional boundaries and neutrality, maintaining the role of a language conduit without influencing clinical dialogue.

• Stay current with best practices and evolving mental health terminology in both languages.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school or equivalent

Experience: The ideal candidate will have a background in mental health and translation services.

Communication Skills: Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to

communicate professionally. Strong grammar and writing skills are crucial for clear and concise

communication with clients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

Interpersonal Skills: The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to interact and assist in a

friendly, compassionate, and professional manner with colleagues, providers, clients, and their

families, as they represent both themselves and RWS.

Background: The candidate must pass all federal and state background checks, and their educational

and work history will be confirmed in compliance with company policies.
