Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sonography Supervisor to oversee the Ultrasound Department at UVM Medical Center . This role ensures daily operations, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance while also performing clinical procedures . The Supervisor will work closely with the Radiology Manager to support budget planning, long-term strategy, and departmental growth in a Level I Trauma Center .

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the Ultrasound Department at UVM Medical Center & Fanny Allen Campus .
• Ensure compliance with regulatory mandates (ACR accreditation, quality control, and patient safety standards) .
• Schedule and supervise staff , ensuring appropriate coverage and workflow efficiency.
• Perform diagnostic and breast ultrasound procedures , maintaining clinical excellence.
• Support sonographers' professional development , providing mentorship and clinical instruction.
• Assist with budgetary planning and long-term strategy for the department.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicists, and educators to enhance imaging quality and technology .
• Provide off-hours phone support as needed for departmental operations.

Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Radiography program (Bachelors Degree Preferred).

ARDMS Certification in Sonography .

5+ years of progressive experience in Sonography , including breast ultrasound experience .

Experience with ACR accreditation and regulatory compliance .

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a unionized healthcare environment .

Project and budget planning experience .

Previous leadership or lead sonographer experience .
