Your Role at Baxter

Baxter is seeking an innovative and skilled Biomedical Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development and integration of Baxter’s Medication Delivery portfolio. The successful Candidate will require a solid foundation in Biomedical engineering principles to include system design, obsolescence management and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will work closely with multi-functional teams, including clinical researchers, software developers, and quality assurance professionals, to build systems that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiencies. The candidate will demonstrate passion for their work and the impact it has on saving and sustaining the lives of patients.

What you'll be doing

  • Conducting system engineering activities, such as requirements development, solution design, verification and validation, risk management, and configuration management, while ensuring alignment with relevant standards and patient safety needs.
  • Collaborating with multi-functional teams to integrate hardware and software components into a cohesive system, ensuring interoperability and performance in clinical environments.
  • Interacting with business and customer partners to understand their problems and needs, and translating these into product functional and performance system requirements.
  • Preparing user documentation, including design specifications, test protocols, and validation reports, to support regulatory submissions and project milestones.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks, and collaborating with Human Factors Leads to conduct formative and summative testing.
  • Developing and optimizing data acquisition and analysis algorithms for embedded biomedical software applications.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance system development and deployment.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years experience in a Systems Engineer, Business Analyst, System Analyst or similar requirements definition role
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.) or other applicable field is preferred
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled at leading meetings, conflict resolution, and making presentations
  • Strategic problem solver, but can complete with great attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in the absence of complete information and remain able to make timely, high quality decisions
  • Experience in the medical device industry and FDA regulations is preferred

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.  This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
