Welder 2

A Welder 2 is responsible for fabrication and welding of frames for large industrial HVAC equipment under some supervision. This role is responsible for maintaining quality standards, meeting production goals, and schedule adherence. This person may be tasked with training a lower-level welder as needed.

Location: La Crosse, WI

Compensation: $25+ an hour based on experience

Job Duties:

• Champions safety procedures and adheres to them strictly.

  • Reach out to safety rep in shop for questions.

  • Goes to Safety Supervisor with issues.

• Performs basic welding tasks under some supervision.

  • Caulking, squaring, cleaning, peeling plastics

• Able to weld to XeteX Standard with some supervision.

• Assists in the fabrication and welding of HVAC equipment under some supervision.

• Handles tools and equipment with guidance.

  • Power tools such as drills, grinders, sander

• Responsible for cleaning work areas and maintaining equipment.

• Able to read and interpret blueprints with some supervision.

• Maintains 3G welding certification.

• Adheres to all quality procedures.

• Assists higher-level welders as required.

• Assists in training lower level welders as needed.

• Maintains foundational skills in HVAC welding.

• Participates actively in on-the-job- training programs.

• Actively listens to instruction from higher level personnel.

• Communicates all needs and questions clearly and concisely with leadership.

• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, certification or degree in welding preferred

• Previous experience in welding.

• Proficiency using hand and power tools such as drills, saws, and grinders.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.

• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.

• Physical stamina and ability to perform job functions.

  • Lifting 25 lbs – Frequently

  • Lifting 50 lbs -Frequently

  • Lifting 75 lbs – Occasionally, team lift as needed
