Health Services

Red Cross health services touch the lives of almost everyone in Central Maryland. Help can’t wait when someone is choking, bleeding, or floundering in the water. That’s why more than 63,000 people trained in this chapter’s health and safety courses last year. They include children taking basic aid courses designed just for them, senior citizens learning vital CPR, and workers discovering what it takes to be safe both on the job and at home.

A revamped program made Red Cross lifeguard training even more professional last year. Thousands of swimmers and boaters benefited from local Red Cross water safety courses. Red Cross nurse assistant training provided skills for individuals seeking employment and patients in need of their help. The spirit of our community is richer thanks to the volunteers who provide this training.
