Red Cross Needs Volunteer Drivers
Patients in area hospitals are dependent upon us to provide life-saving blood!
The American Red Cross has an immediate need for volunteer drivers to transport blood from blood drives in the Baltimore Metropolitan area to laboratory headquarters in Baltimore and to area hospitals. Drivers will also transport other volunteers who help at blood drives.
Hours are flexible. Evening and weekend hours are available. Weekday volunteers must be able to commit to a minimum or 4 – 6 hours, one day per week.
Volunteer drivers must be at least 18 years old and meet the following qualifications:
- Have a valid Maryland driver’s license
- Have two or more years driving experience
- Have a safe driving record
- Have knowledge of the Baltimore area with the ability to follow directions and maps
- Have the physical strength to lift 30 pounds
- Be reliable and punctual
- Be willing to work as part of a team
