HERE’S HOW YOU PLAY YOUR PART
Educational and Instructional Programs
Become a Red Cross volunteer instructor in one or more of the following courses and help people throughout the community prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies: · First Aid · CPR · Medications Administration · Nurse Assistant Training · Babysitter’s Training · Community Disaster Education · Safety for Seniors presentations Also, we may work with qualified nursing students to develop independent study projects.
Disaster Health Services
When disaster strikes, volunteer disaster nurses are needed to meet emergency health needs of disaster victims. Disaster nurses provide these services in a variety of setting including: · Home or hospital visits · On site at disasters · In shelters · At service centers
Program Development
The Red Cross also provides opportunities to serve on our nursing and health team to develop new and innovative programs, as well as to monitor and expand the availability of a variety of Red Cross services in your community. You will receive an American Red Cross nursing pin to proudly acknowledge your involvement.
