Training Meets All Requirements

Pet First Aid
Cat First Aid Training– This unique class is offered through a self-study book and CD available at the Red Cross store. Students learn how to respond to life-threatening emergencies such as choking, poisoning and exposure to extreme weather conditions; perform CPR and First Aid; and to recognize symptoms and provide care for common emergencies such as allergic reactions and car accidents.

Anne Arundel County Department of Health’s Immunization Services Program was faced with the challenge of providing flu vaccinations to county residents after a nationwide flu vaccine shortage was announced in 2004. The IS Program implemented the county-wide Incident Management System to address the shortage and opened two mass flu clinics at central sites, providing 7,000 high-risk county residents with the vaccine.
